Workshop details

Michele Drees

Michele Drees' trio has been the Rhythmic bedrock for the London Tap Jam for nearly 10 years. Her love of Tap dance knows no bounds and she fully supports the Tap Community by always having Tap dancers in her band the MDJTP.

During this time she has developed a fantastic workshop for helping young Tap Dancers.

Michele has given these workshops all over the world, including Tap in Rio, Roxane Butterfly's JSI in Barcelona, Stockholm Tap festival and of course Brighton Tap Festival and more.

Not to be missed, if you want to open up your heart to swing and improvising and become more like a musician in your approach to your work.

Her wonderful Trio will also be playing for BTF Tap Jam and for the final Gala

Please note this workshop is a two part workshop so both sessions need to be booked

The workshop will be aimed at Beginner / Intermediate levels, but anyone interested is welcome to join!

Kai Scanlan

Kai will be teaching his first ever international workshop at BTF 2018 and we are so happy he'll be joining us!
The workshop will be aimed at children and teens and will be an intermediate / advanced level. The price of the workshop will be £12 to make it more accessible for everyone!

Brighton Tap Festival actively nurtures and encourages emerging tap dance talent. We are proud to be able to provide a platform for dancers and give them opportunity to run workshops.

We have known Kai since he was very young and have seen him grow into the fantastic tap dancer that he is today. He has trained extensively with Tap Attack and has won numerous world titles, and is now branching out into teaching and choreographing. He has worked closely with Jason Janas and is well on his way to becoming the next big thing in the UK!
